Dr. Rachel Walsh,
ABOUT ME

I am Dr. Rachel Walsh, DVM, (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), CVC (Certified Veterinary Chiropractor), CVA (Certified Animal Acupuncturist) of Replenish Pet Chiropractic. I am a native Houstonian who obtained a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology degree from Rice University. I also obtained my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M Veterinary School in 2013. I am now a board certified animal chiropractor and am certified in animal acupuncture. In addition I have finished training in herbal medicine and nutrition as well. After practicing small animal medicine for many years and experiencing the magic that chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture can provide for my patients, I decided to continue my training and attend school to become an animal chiropractor and animal acupuncturist. I still work as a small animal veterinarian, but I also provide mobile chiropractic care to patients as a complimentary therapy to medicine and as preventative care to keep pets feeling and functioning at the top of their game. I work in multiple locations around Houston so feel free to contact me to see what is the most convenient for both of us. Discounts will also be provided if you have larger groups.

Conversations with Dr. Rachel Walsh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Rachel Walsh. Hi Dr. Walsh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today? My name is Dr. Rachel Walsh and I am a veterinarian and veterinary chiropractor in the Houston area. I recently launched my new animal chiropractic business called Replenish Pet Chiropractic where I provide chiropractic adjustments to small animals. I became interested in chiropractic treatments when my own dog had severe neck pain that I was not able to control with the traditional veterinary medicine protocols. One of my veterinary friends happened to be a chiropractor and so I took Sammy to her and she was instantly able to fix my dog with a chiropractic adjustment alone and no medication. It was from then on I became interested in a whole area of healing that I was not trained in. I attended school to learn animal chiropractic adjustments and now use it daily to instantly cure ailments and diseases in small animals that I at one time only had medicine to try to use. Chiropractic adjustments work almost better on animals than they do people. The animals walk away feeling so much better than when they walked in and do things that their owners haven’t seen them do in years. I commonly have clients tell me that it looks like I took 10 years off of their dog after a few adjustments. Chiropractic adjustments work by aligning the spine so that all of the nerve pathways are opened and allow for optimal connections between the spine and the rest of the body. Opening these nerve channels allows for faster healing, pain relief, better metabolism, healing of chronic diseases, and so much more. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way? It has been challenging to do chiropractic school while working as a veterinarian and raising three small children however I do enjoy the constant excitement and challenges. Although I am constantly having to keep up with even more chiropractic education in addition to my year of veterinary continuing education, it has provided a more well-rounded view of how we can keep our animals at their optimal health and not always use medications to treat every issue. Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work? I also still run a natural supplement business on the side called Replenish Dog in order to provide my clients with natural supplements and treatments that do not already exist in the pet market. My first product called Replenish Dog Water Supplement is powdered natural supplement designed to be added to your dog’s water while they are exercising or ill. Replenish provides vitamins and nutrients that are scientifically proven to help your dog recover faster and work longer. In addition, I also have another epsom salt based foot soak that was created to be used for dogs with itchy or irritated paws. Paw licking is one of the more common conditions I see in the clinic and my Paw Healing Solution provides a treatment option that can cure the issue without a veterinary visit and systemic medication. With veterinary chiropractic and Replenish products I am trying to provide pet owners with a well-balanced health regimen for their fur babies! Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to? Dr. Jessica Marziani, DVM is the veterinarian who inspired me to pursue chiropractic school. She is the owner of CARE veterinary services and provides excellent alternative veterinary treatment options for small and large animals. She is amazing!! Sandra at the K9 Health Center has also given me the opportunity to use her canine rehabilitation facility to see clients that are seeking chiropractic adjustments for their pets. She runs an amazing rehab center and provides great care for many dogs needed physical therapy.
